What are we looking for: 

 

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Category Manager to oversee our strategic and tactical procurement activities. The ideal candidate will be adept at analysing data, developing long-term strategies, fostering vendor relationships, and managing supplier contracts to ensure the best value for our organization. 

 

What can you expect as a Category Manager at Scandinavian Tobacco Group? 

  • Be responsible for the smooth running of our strategic categories. 

  • Develop long-term development strategies for strategic product categories in alignment with business needs and stakeholder requirements, utilizing market knowledge and data to drive decision-making. 

  • Devise exit/contingency strategies and conduct make vs. buy analyses to optimize sourcing decisions. 

  • Cultivate trust relationships with vendors through Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) practices to negotiate better pricing and ensure the delivery of high-quality products and services. 

  • Prepare, negotiate, close, and manage supplier contracts critically and competitively, ensuring compliance with organizational standards and legal requirements. 

  • Establish and manage a bidding process to procure specific products, collecting relevant information from external stakeholders and initiating RFx processes to drive competitive sourcing. 

 

Your areas of knowledge and expertise (that matter the most for this role):   

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field. 

  • Experience in strategic procurement, with a focus on sourcing and supplier management.  

  • Proven track record of analysing data and developing strategic sourcing strategies to drive cost savings and operational efficiency. 

  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with vendors. 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners. 

  • Proficiency in contract management and procurement software/tools.
