Job Title – Buyer – 6 Month Fixed Term Contract

Location - Waalre, Netherlands 

  

About the Role 
As a Buyer at Scandinavian Tobacco Group you will be responsible for buying indirect and direct goods or materials and ingredients to meet our operational requirements. The buyer translates the procurement plan or ad hoc requests from the Commercial teams - developed and maintained by the Material Planner - in purchase orders towards suppliers, follows up on timely delivery, resolves or escalates any unforeseen issues with suppliers relating to operations and purchasing. 

   

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate Procurement Plan into Purchase Orders for suppliers. 

  • Create, manage, and monitor purchase orders.  

  • Follow up on timely delivery and ensure a continuous and secure supply of material.  

  • Manage all administrative activities for your area in necessary systems such as Ivalua and SAP.  

  • Resolve or escalate potential disruption promptly.  

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.  

  • Ability to adapt quickly to changes in demand or supply chain disruptions.  

  • Actively contribute in the phase in/phase out process in the short-term horizon.  

  • Actively contribute to build and manage successful long-term partnerships with suppliers.  

  • Process requests for marketing materials from the Commercial teams, collaborate closely with the Strategic Procurement team for vendor selection and pricing.  

  • Deliver a weekly purchase order report to supervisors on order status and highlight potential disruptions including actions taken.  

 

What skills and experience will be required? 

  • Education in the field of operations, supply chain management, business or equivalent years of experience is required for the role.  

  • Two to five years' working experience in purchasing roles.  

  • Hands-on experience working with multiple partners to resolve exceptions.
