Scheduling & Logistics Manager

Summary:
In this role, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing the manufacturing operations in Belgium. You will be responsible for overseeing both scheduling and logistics aspects, ensuring seamless coordination between production planning and the movement of materials and finished goods. You will be a part of the Manufacturing Production Team and report directly to the Vice President of Manufacturing Europe.

 

What can you expect as a Scheduling & Logistics Manager at Scandinavian Tobacco Group?
As the Scheduling & Logistics Manager, you will play a crucial role in coordinating production schedules, optimizing logistics operations, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. You will lead a team responsible for translating production plans into executable schedules, ensuring on-time delivery to clients, and maintaining efficient inventory management practices. Through effective leadership and collaboration with cross-functional teams, you will contribute to the overall success and growth of our manufacturing operations in Belgium.

 

Your primary tasks will include the following:
•    Develop and manage the production schedule in alignment with the overall production plan, creating rough capacity plans for machine and workforce requirements
•    Make changes to frozen schedules in cooperation with supply planning to avoid out-of-stock situations and ensure meeting requested ship dates
•    Control the movement of work-in-progress (WIP) and new-to-market (NTM) products across value streams, proposing mitigation plans as needed
•    Monitor material availability and ensure all required materials are available on time while maintaining adherence to schedule and volume reliability
•    Oversee internal logistics operations, including receiving materials, picking, and supplying them to production lines
•    Ensure smooth execution of shipment plans and adherence to OTIF (On Time In Full) KPI while maintaining accurate system records
•    Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects on the shop floor
•    Coordinate and lead the manufacturing planning team and schedulers
•    Work closely with cross-functional teams such as finance, sales, shipment, and customs departments to streamline operations and achieve organizational goals
•    Ensure compliance with safety protocols and procedures during all job tasks
•    Maintain a focus on quality throughout every aspect of the work, adhering to established standards and striving for excellence in every deliverable

 

Your areas of knowledge and expertise (that matter the most for this role): 
•    Master's degree in Operations Management, Business Management, Demand Planning, or a related field
•    Strong background in operations management, scheduling, and logistics
•    Experience in project management, performance management, and continuous improvement initiatives
•    Proficiency in analytical tools such as Power BI
•    Familiarity with ERP systems and their applications in production planning and logistics
•    Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across departments
•    Fluency in both Dutch and English.
