About the Role

As a Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and architectures that support data analytics, reporting, and business intelligence initiatives. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including data scientists, analysts, and IT professionals to ensure the accessibility and integrity of data across the organization. This position is based in our Copenhagen office, where you will be part of a collaborative and supportive IT team focused on delivering modern data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain efficient, reliable data pipelines and ETL processes to integrate and transform data from diverse sources.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand data requirements and translate them into robust data models and architectures.
  • Implement and monitor data quality and integrity standards to ensure accurate and consistent datasets.
  • Optimize data workflows for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency in alignment with business needs.
  • Support the migration and integration of data systems to cloud platforms when applicable.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of data engineering best practices, tools, and documentation.
  • Work closely with IT security teams to ensure compliance with company and regulatory data privacy and security requirements.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven experience in data engineering or a related role, ideally in a corporate or business services environment.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language such as Python, Scala, or Java.
  • Hands-on experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, Luigi).
  • Familiarity with big data technologies and platforms such as Hadoop, Spark, or cloud data services (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases, data warehousing solutions, and ETL frameworks.
  • Understanding of data governance, data security, and compliance practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work both independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
