About the role

Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for public policy and stakeholder engagement? Scandinavian Tobacco Group (STG) is seeking a seasoned leader to spearhead our corporate affairs strategy across Europe. In this pivotal role, you’ll be the voice of STG in legislative and regulatory arenas - shaping policy, safeguarding our reputation, and aligning external dynamics with our business goals.

 

Your Mission

As Head of Corporate Affairs, you’ll lead high-impact engagement with government bodies, regulatory agencies, industry associations, and key stakeholders. Operating in a tightly regulated industry, you’ll be instrumental in anticipating change, influencing outcomes, and driving alignment across internal and external partners.

 

What will you be responsible for?

Legislative Intelligence 

  • Monitor emerging laws and regulatory shifts affecting STG’s product categories 
  • Deliver early, actionable insights and ensure the right tools and platforms are in place

Policy Analysis & Strategy

  • Assess the implications of proposed legislation 
  • Recommend strategic responses that support STG’s interests 

Stakeholder Alignment & Advocacy 

  • Shape and communicate STG’s positions on key legislative and regulatory matters 
  • Foster alignment across internal teams and external partners 
  • Manage relationships with European and national industry associations 

Engagement & Influence 

  • Mobilize stakeholders to support or mitigate legislative developments 
  • Track progress and adapt strategies to ensure effective advocacy

 

What skills and experience will be required?

  • Advanced degree in law, public affairs, communications, or related field 
  • 10+ years of experience in corporate affairs, lobbying, or regulatory strategy 
  • Deep understanding of European legislative processes and stakeholder ecosystems 
  • Proven success in navigating complex regulatory environments - ideally in tobacco or similarly regulated sectors 
  • Exceptional communication skills across all level - from boardroom briefings to government dialogue 
  • Experience representing corporate interests within industry associations 
  • Ability to connect policy with business strategy and build influential networks 
  • Fluent in English; additional European languages a plus
