Function Profile: Export Activation Manager (EAM)

Job Title : Export Activation Manager

Department : Rest of World - International Sales

Reports To : Director Central Eastern EU & GTR

Location : HQ-based with international travel (20–30%)

 

Purpose of the Role:

The Export Activation Manager (EAM) is responsible for driving brand activation, supporting export sales operations, ensuring compliance with international regulations, overseeing forecasting processes, and providing market insights. This role involves collaborating with internal teams, managing customer relationships, and tracking competitor activities to support business growth in export markets.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Brand Activation (Monthly/Quarterly)

· Develop and execute full-year activation plans to support export business growth.

· Oversee the creation, approval, and procurement of branded materials.

· Track volume and costs per customer to ensure budget adherence.

· Ensure proper invoicing from customers, including provisions and credit notes related to marketing costs.

· Evaluate return on investment (ROI) on relevant activation activities quarterly

· Drive the Brand Launch Document (BLD) process, including artwork approval.

· Coordinate with internal brand teams to assess potential future launches and implement them.

· Work with brand teams to evaluate potential delistings and align strategies accordingly.

Forecasting (Monthly/Quarterly)

· Collect and manage customer forecasts to support demand planning and supply chain efficiency.

· Maintain and optimize internal forecasting processes.

· Analyze forecast accuracy by comparing forecasts with actual orders, identifying gaps and improvement areas.

Compliance (Monthly)

· Maintain label registrations, including SDS and PCN compliance.

· Ensure tracking of legal changes in all markets and support mitigation planning.

· Assist in the development and launch of new product developments (NPDs) to meet compliance requirements.

Sales & Operations (Monthly/Quarterly)

· Collect and analyze market sales data to track performance trends.

· Monitor in-market stock levels versus in-market sales per customer quarterly.

· Track sales to distributors and in-market performance to ensure targets are met.

· Respond to customer complaints and coordinate resolutions in collaboration with relevant teams.

· Manage order collection from selected customers, ensuring timely processing and fulfillment.

· Collect and analyze distributor stock levels quarterly to optimize inventory management.

· Monitor overdue invoices and vet customers, ensuring alignment with customer service processes.

Market Insights & Competitive Analysis (Quarterly)

· Collect and analyze competitor recommended selling prices (RSPs) and create price trees/brand board.

· Track and report on competitor activation strategies and marketing campaigns.

· Monitor and share insights on competitor product launches (NPDs).

· Gather and analyze offtake data (e.g., Nielsen) to strengthen commercial strategy.

· Collect and evaluate total market data, including import trends, to support strategic decision-making

 

Key Skills & Competencies:

· Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market and sales data.

· Excellent project management and organizational abilities.

· Strong communication skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

· Proficiency in data analysis tools and Microsoft Office Suite.

· Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.

 

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, International Trade, or a related field

· 2+ years of experience in sales, export management, or brand activation.

· Knowledge of market data analysis tools (e.g., Nielsen) is a plus.

· Experience in managing compliance processes for international markets.

· Top and bottom line growth in international territories

· Distributor performance (sales targets, market share) & development

· Customer satisfaction and brand consistency across regions

· Efficiency of sales operations and compliance metric
