JOB SUMMARY
The Sourcing Specialist is responsible for:
- Running the sourcing process: from vendor identification to vendor onboarding to ensure the company’s operational sourcing needs are met, while optimizing price and quality
- Managing the vendor/supplier relationships and performance over the contract lifecycle and resolving any problem with suppliers relating to operations, purchasing or quality/performance
- Ensuring sourcing compliance throughout the RFx and contracting phases
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct assigned sourcing activities using best practices to meet customers’ quality and delivery requirements at adequate price
- Identify and Evaluate Suppliers: research and identify prospective suppliers and manufacturers
- Develop and negotiate contracts with new suppliers and/or renegotiate existing contracts to accomplish the lowest TCO and savings objectives
- Responsible for maintaining strategic sourcing relationships and developing strong partnerships
- Responsible for creating scenarios, cost estimates and expenditure forecasts in collaboration with other departments
- Evaluate sourcing procedures and present improvement strategies to management for approval
- Works with suppliers and internal departments to promptly resolve potential disruption or issues and to ensure a continuous and secure supply of material and services
- Responds to internal and external requests for information and guidance
- Communicates timeline and constraints accurately to all involved in the purchasing and supply chain process
- Maintains the highest ethics and standards in conducting procurement activities
SKILLS REQUIRED
- Advanced analytical skills, with the ability to create financial reports and conduct cost analyses
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize multiple projects
- Demonstrates the ability to effectively persuade others to listen, commit and act on a new approach
- Strong organizational, risk management and negotiation skills
- Superior program and project management skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-driven environment
- Familiarity with sourcing and procurement tools: ERP (SAP preferred), S2P platforms, spend cubes, saving tracking tools
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office required
- Complete command of the English language, Spanish as a plus
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, a Master’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain or similar discipline is a plus
- 3 to 5 years of minimum experience in purchasing or sourcing role
- Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
- Advanced MRP/ERP knowledge, as well as a working knowledge of supplier contract maintenance and sourcing techniques is highly preferred
- Business spend management, SAP and S2P suite (Ariba, Coupa, Ivalua) knowledge would be beneficial
