Role Summary:

The Record to Report Lead is a key leadership role responsible for managing end-to-end Record to Report processes including financial reporting, consolidation and taxes within a centralized service delivery model. This role involves managing a team, collaborating with various stakeholders, and optimizing RTR processes for efficiency and effectiveness.

What can you expect as an Record to Report Lead at Scandinavian Tobacco Group? Your primary tasks will be: 

 

Leadership and development:​

  • Manage a team of 15+, supported by two supervisors who will report to you
  • Build a strong, engaged and efficient Record-to-Report (RTR) team and ensure effective people management, wellbeing and development of the team​
  • Set objectives and KPIs for the team to improve their performance
  • Run regular team and individual performance reviews including the annual individual performance reviews & provide constructive feedback for improvement​
  • Promote a collaborative work culture to enhance teamwork & productivity
  • Provide and develop ongoing training for the R2R team to ensure a high level of expertise and adherence to best accounting practices.​
  • Represent RTR team in various meetings (e.g., audit & compliance, management & strategy meetings, cross-functional collaboration meetings)​
  • Collaborate with the other SDO Finance Leads to work on and lead cross-functional projects

 

Operational Responsibilities:​

  • Lead the entire Record-to-Report (RTR) process including financial closing & reporting as well as tax and statistical declarations for the Europe scope (14 countries) within the Solution Delivery Organization​
  • Standardize and streamline the end-to-end RTR process, ensuring alignment with global accounting standards and corporate policies​
  • Coordinate and execute the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes in adherence to global group deadlines​ and rules
  • Coordinate and organise the relationship with auditors for annual group and local audits
  • Oversee the Tax operations, ensuring they are managed effectively​
  • Provide guidance on technical accounting matters and support team members in achieving their goals​
  • Collaborate with other Solution Delivery Organization functions to ensure seamless cross-functional integration​
  • Responsible for escalation management, process improvements, and overall effectiveness of RTR process​
  • Conduct month end meetings with RTR teams to ensure that all goals and tasks are progressing as planned​

 

Performance & Efficiency:​

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within the RTR function, driving efficiency and accuracy​
  • Partner with our Business Analysts, Global Process Owner and SAP team to identify RTR improvement opportunities to streamline operations and reduce turnaround time​
  • Introduce or enhance automation tools and integrate new technologies to expedite the Record to Report process, improving accuracy and efficiency

 

Your areas of knowledge and expertise (that matter the most for this role):

  • Overall experience of 8-10 years in Financial Accounting and Reporting with a focus on leadership roles
  • Strong background in finance and in-depth knowledge of IFRS, financial reporting and month-end close processes​
  • Tax experience is optional, but a good understanding and exposure to general tax concepts is required
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (preferably SAP S/4HANA) and consolidation tools
  • Strong leadership and team management skills ​with at least one previous leadership experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A curious and proactive mind willing to improve the RTR process in this growth phase
  • Familiarity with shared service center operations and global service delivery models​ is a plus (optional)
  • Preferred Educational Requirements - MSc (Accounting & Finance)/ MBA Finance / CMA or ACCA or CPA​
