ABOUT THE ROLE
We have an incredible opportunity for a Managing Director to lead our factory operations in our factory in Biyagama Sri Lanka. As a Managing Director you will be responsible for a team of 1400 employees, and you will be responsible for cultivating and maintaining high standards of operational excellence.
WHAT WILL YOU BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?
- Manage all operational activities from raw material handling to finished goods.
- Lead and manage a team of 1400 employees.
- Coordinate Production, HRD, FINANCE, LOG, Maintenance, EHS and Quality Control department.
- Ensure efficient production planning and inventory control, optimizing the use of raw materials and minimizing waste or downtime.
- Oversee the maintenance of machinery and equipment to ensure smooth operations and minimize downtime.
- Maintain high standards of quality control, ensuring all products meet customer specifications and company standards.
- Drive process improvements to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and increase profitability. Implement lean manufacturing principles and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Handle government agencies (Customs, Taxes, Labord Dept and others)
- Promote a positive and productive work environment.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment across all departments.
- Manage the operational budget, including labor, production, and maintenance costs, and work towards reducing operational expenses.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in local company, sister company and HQ.
WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WILL BE REQUIRED?
- 10+ years of experience in manufacturing operations
- Proven ability to manage large teams.
- Experience in production processes.
- Degree in engineering, operations management or a related field.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrable experience of working in a culturally diverse environment
- Good understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Language: English (must)
