Supply Planner

About the role:

This individual will support all aspects of day-to-day Supply Planning, including but not limited to maintaining agreed upon inventory levels, creation and issuing of purchase orders for finished goods and maintenance of planning parameters in the ERP. The incumbent will analyze stock at sku/vendor level and ensure these are reordered at the right time and in the right quantity based on inventory policies while optimizing working capital and appropriately fulfilling customer orders. Other areas of responsibility include sku creation, purchase order follow up, receiving discrepancy resolution, maintaining ERP data integrity, and effectively communicating with vendors on a day-to-day basis for issues resolution. He/she will be a liaison between Demand Planning, Merchandising, Procurement and Accounting to drive business efficiencies and cost-effective solutions.

This individual must exhibit clear and efficient communication skills, excellent follow-up, attention to detail, effective time management, sense of urgency and process improvement mindset.

 

What will you be responsible for?

  • Strategize with fellow merchants on launching online/print promotions, utilizing the tools at their disposal to ensure proper execution
  • Input and make decisions concerning our strategic retail pricing, while maintaining smooth and consistent communication with stores
  • Drive new sales opportunities with Marketing, fellow Merchants, and external vendors
  • Create and maintain strong relationships with the other departments and entities
  • Act as a resource to our Contact Center and Retail Stores for product related information and to help answer customer inquiries 
  • Balance short term, deadline-driven tasks against larger-scale projects
  • Be a motivated self-starter who relishes the opportunity to be challenged every day
  • Have strong skills in Microsoft Office to thrive in our data and analysis-rich business
  • Assume additional responsibilities as required

 

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Translate rolling demand plan and by plan into executable and feasible purchasing plan that incorporates catalogs and promotions plans, statistical and historical trends, vendors production capacities, and lead times.
  • Responsible for the daily execution of the supply plan as it relates to issuing purchase orders, expediting products and resolution of related operating issues while exercising a high level of internal and external customer service.
  • Maintenance and update master data and planning parameters including but not limited to Coverage Groups, Lead Time and agreed upon weeks of supply. Proactively work with Merchants to determine appropriate sku status.
  • Ensure existing ERP and reporting tools are utilized to allow for prompt identification and resolution of any nuances related to In Stock %, backorders, excess inventory and any other areas for improvement.
  • Diligently work with Receiving and Accounting teams to resolve discrepancies found in incoming shipments to facilitate a smooth ARJ (Arrival Journal) processing.
  • Lead timely communication as it relates to supplier issues and escalate if needed by proactively interfacing with Procurement department and any other pertinent stakeholders.
  • Participate in monthly S&OP (Sales & Operations Process) and weekly S&OE (Sales & Operations Execution) processes by providing inputs and insights to support alignment between supply/demand as well as improving and upgrading existing business practices.
  • Other activities/tasks as dictated by manager and business needs

Qualifications/Abilities:

  • Demonstrated problem solving, root cause analysis and corrective action skills
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficiency in Excel. Power BI knowledge a plus.
  • Demonstrated sense of urgency and ownership
  • Excellent written skills with the ability to communicate effectively throughout the organization
  • Capacity to build relationships internally & externally
  • Capable of making independent decisions, work well under pressure and can prioritize work
  • Highly motivated, disciplined, and focused individual that pays attention to detail and requires minimal supervision
  • 5+ Years experience in inventory management, supply planning or demand planning
