Staff Accountant
ABOUT THE ROLE –
We are searching for a motivated person who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate should have strong organizational and analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
This role reports directly to the Head of Global Financial Services NAOR, and frequently collaborates with other team members, as well as other departments within the organization. The Staff Accountant will handle day-to-day accounting and finance functions for a diverse line of business entities that include retail, online/ecommerce, and wholesale. The position will provide exceptional support to the accounting department and own a diverse area of responsibilities and ancillary tasks.
WHAT WILL YOU BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?
- Support multiple areas of the accounting department, which will include accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory, compliance, and banking related responsibilities.
- Assist in processing daily deposits, including lockboxes and credit card transactions.
- Maintain monthly ledger account reconciliations, including bank accounts, prepaid and other assets, liabilities, and credit cards, to support ending asset and liability balances. Research and resolve reconciling items.
- Prepare or assist in the preparation of various schedules and supporting documents as required.
- Participate in the monthly close process including preparation of journal entries and account variance analysis.
- Assist with processing and recording of inventory transactions in the ERP system as needed.
- Prepare compliance forms related to excise tax, sales tax, license renewals, etc. as required.
- Assist with year-end audit, including compiling requested information and preparation of various analysis.
- Develop and document business processes to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Performs other related responsibilities or tasks as assigned by their manager.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate’s degree in accounting, bachelor’s degree in accounting is preferred.
- 1-3 years’ experience in accounting/finance
- Familiarity with accounting principles, GAAP, IFRS, FASB
- Demonstrated experience in variance analysis, reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Experience AX Dynamics or SAP a plus
- Must be proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively.
