Pricing Manager

We are currently seeking an experienced and ambitious individual to join our team as Pricing Manager. In this position, you will be responsible for overseeing all consumer pricing and optimizing pricing in order to enhance Scandinavian Tobacco Group’s North America Online and Retail Divisions overall strategy. The ideal candidate is one that has a strong B2C ecommerce background, is a strategic, analytically minded individual with good business acumen, a strong understanding of pricing strategies, systems, and tactics, as well as excellent interpersonal skills. The candidate must have strong, hands-on skills with at least 5+ years of experience in retail pricing at a mid to large-sized multi-channel, multi-business unit organization. This individual should have proven success in developing and maturing data driven pricing strategies across a direct-to-consumer ecommerce environment or a comparable industry with similar speed and complexity.



  • Lead consumer pricing strategy and execution for STG’s North America Online and Retail Divisions B2C Ecommerce Business Units (Cigars International,, Thompson Cigar, and Pipes & Cigars)
  • Lead execution of all price changes, including coordination of manufacturer-driven/MAP price changes
  • Manage the core pricing systems and regularly optimize to support the most current business objectives.
  • Manage our competitive pricing software and collect data to make informed decisions and ensure our businesses remain appropriately competitive.
  • In conjunction with the Pricing Analyst, establish appropriate key performance indicators and develop an analytics dashboard that allows key stakeholders consistent visibility into overall performance.
  • In conjunction with the Pricing Analyst, implement advanced tracking procedures to regularly monitor competitor’s pricing, promotions, and related activities.
  • In conjunction with Pricing Analyst to support development of price testing programs and tools to gain deeper insights on price elasticity and consumer behavior around price changes.
  • Develop mechanisms to monitor consumer feedback and performance due to price changes.
  • Develop and maintain an annual and multi-year pricing strategy for each business unit that ensures we remain competitive with direct competitors
  • Develop, maintain, and champion a full suite of pricing rules, policies, strategies, and operating procedures.
  • Collaborate with Merchandising and Marketing teams to optimize promotions as related to pricing objectives.
  • Provide regular insights and feedback to executives and Procurement around product cost changes.
  • Regular presentations to keep executives apprised of the pricing strategy as well as the results of any initiatives for all business units.
  • Partner with global peers to align on standardized pricing processes where applicable.
  • Share strengths/skills around pricing with other divisions of STG as appropriate/required.



  • 5+ years’ experience in pricing with a focus in a B2C retail environment (preferably with experience in a multi-title/multi-brand retail business)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business-related field or relevant additional experience (degrees in statistics, marketing, mathematics, finance, accounting, or economics may also be relevant)
  • Experience working with pricing and promotions across a large consumable product assortments (10k skus or greater)
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing new strategic initiatives.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to understand analysis/reporting and interpret data to make actionable business decisions and recommendations.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to influence a wide variety of contributors and stakeholders.
  • Highly proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Passion for e-commerce and customer experience.
  • A curious nature with a desire to understand our product category and e-commerce strategies.
  • Highly organized with ability to manage time, priorities, and multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • A tech-savvy nature with a strong comprehension and/or experience with consumer testing.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
