Head of Demand & Supply Planning & Customer Service

Summary:

The Head of Demand & Supply Planning & Customer Service, Americas is a key leadership position within the Integrated Planning department in Operations. Reporting directly to the SVP Integrated Planning, the Director is responsible for leading the regional end-to-end supply chain operations, including demand planning, supply planning, inventory management, purchasing, and customer service for the Americas. The role requires driving planning accuracy, operational efficiency, and digitization of operations. The Director will set strategic ambitions, manage regional planning, purchasing and customer service operations, and lead a high-performance team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

 

What can you expect in the role as the Head of Demand & Supply & Planning & Customer Service with Scandinavian Tobacco Group?

  • Drive S&OP & S&OE processes to balance demand and supply and ensure execution to plan.
  • Handle replenishment of materials and finished goods to factories and distribution centers.
  • Function as main interface towards internal factories and external suppliers for supply planning.
  • Improve production plan adherence for internal factories and external suppliers.
  • Plan and manage inventories of materials and finished goods to meet agreed inventory targets and limit excess and obsolete cost.
  • Manage customer service and sales order management.
  • Define and monitor service levels in cooperation with commercial divisions.
  • Develop and monitor a structured set of performance metrics covering demand planning, supply planning, inventory and customer service.
  • Improve forecast accuracy in cooperation with commercial divisions.
  • Secure on-time delivery accuracy to customers in line with agreed service level.
  • Ensure product availability for materials and finished products in line with agreed service level.
  • Drive continuous improvement and increase maturity and efficiency across own area.
  • Support execution of company strategic initiatives for own area.
  • Ensure compliance with company and external standards for own area.
  • Function as main interface to Finance on demand and supply plan.

 

Your areas of knowledge and expertise (that matter the most for this role):

  • Fluent in English, preferably Spanish as an additional language.
  • Senior leader with a minimum of 5 years of solid and broad experience in supply chain management.
  • People management experience, with a minimum of 5 years in leadership positions.
  • Proven experience in continuous improvement in supply chain organizations.
  • Experience with leading international teams and understanding cultural complexities.
  • Experience working with SAP as an ERP system preferred
  • Experience with digital transformations within ERP and advanced planning solutions.
  • Preferably experience with integration of acquired companies.
  • Preferably worked in FMCG or highly regulated industries.
  • Master’s degree in supply chain management, engineering, or business management field and preferably APICS CPIM certification.
  • Proven ability to work on both strategic and operational level, setting strategic directions and ensuring realization in operations.
  • Proven ability to build and lead high-performance teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Excellent collaboration skills and ability to work cross-functionally with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong and visible leadership style, ability to deal with organizational resistance, and high perseverance.
  • Ability to simplify complex issues, challenge the status quo, and think strategically.
  • Travel activities required in the range of 20-30 days per year.
