Summary:

The Application Development Manager will play a key role in revolutionizing our software development platforms, ensuring both quality and standardization of the system using all features and functionality and making world-class, high-performance integrations to Best-of-Breed applications and ERP systems. The Application Development Manager will be responsible for analyzing high-level user requirements provided by key stakeholders within the business. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop and execute activities that advance our global eCommerce platform capabilities and other eCommerce initiatives. The Application Development Manager will work closely with cross functional business and technical teams, drive continuous improvement of the customer experience via new features and enhancements, optimization of integration points with WMS and other systems, and expand the functionality to new geographies and products.

 

What can you expect as an Application Development Manager at Scandinavian Tobacco Group?

  • Manage re-platform team with project management, requirements definition, functional spec approval, QA, and change management activities as needed.
  • Responsible for platform architecture and integrations to and from the web sites with our internal systems, working closely with other technical teams
  • Works closely with functional business & technical teams in project prioritization, assigning work to the both employees and consultants, and provide technical strategy/guidance to the web development.
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams to plan upcoming projects, operational and support activities to ensure smooth delivery of all activities assigned to the team.
  • Establish metrics (KPIs) for all operational processes and initiatives; develop data presentation formats and reports on a weekly and monthly basis
  • Monitor and enhance the performance of the team in the areas of productivity, quality support, customer satisfaction, and technical expertise by providing individual coaching feedback sessions that focus on improving customer satisfaction, communication skills and technical ability
  • Meet department deadlines on time, with high quality results and agreed upon scope.
  • Maintain system and data security at a high standard ensuring the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the websites are not compromised
  • Deliver on excellent platform uptime guarantees and act as the higher-level escalation contact for the platform
  • Adhere to industry best practice coding standards

 

Your areas of knowledge and expertise (that matter the most for this role):

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or an equivalent combination of education & experience
  • 5 + years working as a business/functional analyst in the design of eCommerce B2C websites or consulting experience in eCommerce delivering engagements for large organizations
  • Excellent foundational consulting skills including strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills, impactful client presence, compelling facilitation and presentation skills, as well as the ability to communicate using PowerPoint (able to storyboard and create a compelling value proposition)
  • This position is based in Bethlehem, PA and the ideal candidate should reside within a commutable distance to our headquarters.
