Student Assistant Accountant

Location: Alcântara, Lisbon, Portugal

Working Model: Part-time (20 hours per week) 

Department: Finance – Record to Report (R2R)

About the Role
We are looking for a motivated Junior Student Worker Accountant to join our Finance team in Lisbon. This is an excellent opportunity for a student in Accounting, Finance, or Economics to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic, international environment while supporting core accounting and reporting activities.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Finance Support
- Assist in daily accounting activities within the Record to Report (R2R) process
- Support preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations
- Help maintain accurate financial records and documentation
- Assist in month-end closing activities
Data & Reporting
- Extract and validate financial data from ERP systems (SAP, Cognos)
- Support preparation of reports and supporting schedules
- Help identify discrepancies and assist in resolving them
Compliance & Controls
- Ensure proper documentation and audit trail for all tasks performed
- Support execution of internal controls and compliance activities
- Assist with audit preparation (internal and external)
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with R2R, P2P, and O2C teams
- Communicate with stakeholders to collect and verify accounting information
- Support issue resolution by coordinating with relevant teams
Who You Are
- Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
- Strong interest in accounting and financial processes
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable using financial systems
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Good communication skills in English
- Proactive, reliable, and eager to learn
Nice to Have
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP)
- Previous internship or student work experience in Finance
