As our new General Manager, you will lead the operations of Club Macanudo, a premier luxury private membership club, cigar lounge, restaurant, and bar located in Manhattan's Upper East Side. You will play an important role in delivering exceptional guest and member experiences, driving financial performance, developing talent, growing membership, and ensuring operational excellence across all aspects of the business. Established in 1996, Club Macanudo is one of the most recognized luxury cigar destinations in the United States. Located on Manhattan's Upper East Side, the club offers upscale dining, fine wines and spirits, New York City's largest selection of premium cigars, and exclusive private humidor lockers for a distinguished membership base. The venue has received national recognition through appearances on The Food Network, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and coverage from leading publications including USA Today and The Wall Street Journal.

What your day will look like

In this role, you will typically focus on:

Leadership & Member Experience

  • Serve as the ambassador and operational leader of the club, fostering a hospitality-first culture.
  • Lead and inspire a team across restaurant, bar, events, membership services, and club operations.
  • Recruit, develop, coach, and retain high-performing team members.
  • Establish accountability, service standards, and a culture focused on operational excellence.
  • Build strong relationships with members and guests to enhance loyalty, retention, and engagement.

Operations Management

  • Oversee day-to-day operations across dining, bar, events, and member services, ensuring seamless execution.
  • Ensure exceptional service standards are maintained throughout all guest touchpoints.
  • Partner closely with culinary and management teams to deliver a best-in-class food and beverage experience.
  • Maintain operational consistency, quality standards, and regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee private events, member experiences, and club programming.

Membership & Business Development

  • Drive membership growth and retention through innovative engagement initiatives.
  • Develop personalized member experiences and exclusive club events.
  • Work with marketing teams to promote the club, attract new members, and strengthen brand awareness.
  • Support initiatives that increase local engagement and drive revenue growth.

Food & Beverage Leadership

  • Partner with the Chef and management team to develop seasonal menus.
  • Collaborate on wine, spirits, and signature cocktail programs that elevate the member experience.
  • Monitor food, beverage, labor, and operating costs to maximize profitability.
  • Stay informed on hospitality, culinary, and beverage trends to support continuous innovation.

Financial Accountability

  • Own budgets, forecasting, financial planning, and overall P&L performance.
  • Analyze operational metrics and financial results to identify opportunities for growth and efficiency.
  • Implement strategies that enhance profitability while maintaining premium service standards.
  • Ensure appropriate controls and processes are in place to safeguard company assets and revenue.

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, licensing, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, food safety, and operational quality.
  • Promote a safe environment for employees, members, and guests.

What you'll bring

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of senior leadership experience within upscale hospitality, luxury hotels, private member clubs, country clubs, fine dining, or related environments.
  • Proven success managing both front-of-house and back-of-house operations, including full-service kitchen and bar programs.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasting, profitability, and operational performance.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to engage high-profile clientele and motivate teams.
  • Demonstrated success creating outstanding guest experiences and cultivating long-term member loyalty.
  • Knowledge of wine, spirits, food and beverage operations, and evolving hospitality trends.
  • NYC Department of Health Food Protection Certification.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must possess valid authorization to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within luxury private clubs, premium hospitality venues, cigar lounges, or membership-based organizations.
  • Passion for premium cigars, luxury hospitality, and member-focused service environments.

Annual Base Salary: $130,000 - $135,000 corresponding to the level of the position, expected experience, and responsibilities. 

Incentives and Benefits: The salary package may include performance-based bonuses and other employee benefits based on position level, location, functional area, and relevant market benchmarks.
