Senior Data Analyst – SAP Reporting & Stakeholder Alignment

  • Location: Copenhagen, Denmark
  • Working hours: Full-time
  • Work model: Hybrid
  • Contract type: Permanent

Are you passionate about turning business questions into meaningful data solutions? Do you enjoy working with stakeholders, solving complex data challenges, and transforming data into insights that drive better decisions? Then you might be the person we are looking for.

As our new Senior Data Analyst, you will join the Data & Insights team and report directly to the Head of Data & Insights. In this role, you will act as the bridge between business stakeholders and SAP data, ensuring reporting requirements are clearly defined, translated into actionable data solutions, and delivered with accuracy and impact.

You will work closely with Finance, Sales, Supply Chain, Operations, and Data Engineering teams to support data-driven decision-making while improving reporting processes and data quality across the organization. This is a great opportunity to influence business decisions, collaborate across functions, and help shape the future of data and analytics at STG.

What your day will look like

In this role, you will typically focus on:

  • Partner directly with business stakeholders — Finance leadership, Sales/Commercial, Supply Chain/Operations — to understand their reporting and data needs, and translate them into concrete data requirements.
  • Work closely with data engineers to scope, request, and validate data pulled from SAP, acting as the translation layer between business language and technical/data specifications.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, validate, and consolidate data for recurring and ad hoc reporting.
  • Build and maintain Excel-based models, trackers, and reports that stakeholders rely on for decision-making.
  • Consolidate data into stakeholder-ready reporting, and supporting data checks.
  • Act as the go-to person for scoping ambiguous stakeholder requests — clarifying what's actually needed, managing expectations, and pushing back constructively when a request isn't well-defined or feasible.
  • Identify data quality issues at the source and work with SAP module owners and data engineers to resolve them.
  • Document data definitions, sources, and logic so reporting stays consistent and auditable month over month.
  • Continuously look for ways to streamline the process rather than repeating manual work each cycle.

What you'll bring

  • 5+ years of experience in a data analyst, business analyst, or similar data-facing role, ideally in a retail or consumer business.
  • Strong SQL skills — comfortable writing and troubleshooting complex queries independently.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data modeling; Power Query is a plus).
  • Familiarity with SAP data structures, particularly FI (Finance) and SD (Sales & Distribution).
  • Experience with SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), or willingness to learn it, is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (Business, Economics, Finance, Data/Statistics, Engineering, or related).
  • Proven experience gathering requirements from business stakeholders and translating them into technical/data specifications.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills — able to align multiple stakeholders (including Finance, Sales, Supply Chain, and IT/data engineering) with sometimes competing priorities, and communicate trade-offs clearly.
  • Comfortable operating with a degree of ambiguity and turning it into a structured plan.
