ABOUT THE ROLE 

 

We are excited to offer an incredible opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join Scandinavian Tobacco Group’s growing Next Generation Products team. In this pivotal role, you will be essential in supporting our innovative ventures beyond tobacco, using strategic insights and a strong understanding of global market trends. Moreover, you will be responsible for shaping and managing our global product portfolio while identifying strategic business opportunities to drive global growth. You will work cross-functionally to deliver and execute portfolio strategies & business development opportunities that help grow our brands and company.

Your role as a self-reliant professional is crucial in our fast-paced environment. A key part of your role will involve ensuring clear communication and alignment within the organization, while fostering robust professional relationships. You will be reporting to the Head of Business Development.

 

WHAT WILL YOU BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?

 

Lead Category Development:

 

  • Develop and implement comprehensive strategies for next generation products, ensuring alignment with consumer preferences and market trends.
  • Analyzing market trends, consumer preferences, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and threats for the brand and category portfolio to improve performance & profitability.
  • Evaluate the performance of the portfolio and adjust as needed to ensure it continues to deliver growth and profitability.

 

Business Growth & Development:

 

  • Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, including market expansions, strategic partnerships, and potential acquisitions.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to develop and execute business development initiatives that accelerate revenue growth and expand market presence.
  • Leverage data and market insights to continuously evolve the product portfolio, ensuring the company remains ahead of industry trends.
  • Utilize market research and consumer insights for the development of the next generation products portfolio strategy and to define its role and roadmap.

 

Global Collaboration:

 

  • Work closely with regional and local teams to adapt portfolio strategies to local market needs and ensure the successful global rollout of new products.
  • Ensure a cohesive approach to portfolio management and business development across markets, driving synergies and efficiencies globally.

 

New Business Opportunities

 

  • Identify and assess emerging trends and consumer needs to develop new product categories that align with the company's strategic goals.
  • Lead the exploration and validation of new business ideas through market research, pilot programs, and feasibility studies.
  • Develop business cases for new category initiatives, including market analysis, financial projections, and risk assessments.
  • Collaborate with R&D, marketing, and sales teams to bring new product categories from concept to market launch.
  • Establish strategic partnerships and alliances to support the development and growth of new categories.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of new categories, making data-driven adjustments to ensure their success and profitability.

 

WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WILL BE REQUIRED?

 

  • 3-5 years of experience in business development and/or project management, ideally within multinational FMCG companies. Global/regional experience is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and strategic thinking with a track record of identifying and capitalizing on growth opportunities.
  • Deep understanding of consumer behaviour, what drives their decisions and how we can adjust our strategies to fit their needs and expectations.
  • Excellent project management skills, with experience leading cross-functional teams & influence senior stakeholders.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building abilities across diverse global teams.
  • Good Excel and PowerPoint skills and proven experience in utilizing data analytics tools.
  • Fluency in English and ability to travel up 10-15% of the time.

For this role, the Annual Base Salary ranges from 615000 DKK to 1025000 DKK corresponding to the level of the position, expected experience and responsibilities.  

Incentives and Benefits: The salary package may include short-term and/or long-term incentives as well as other employee benefits based on position level, location, functional area and relevant market benchmarks.
