Open seven days a week, Club Macanudo offers upscale dining, fine wines and spirits, New York City’s largest selection of premium cigars, and exclusive private humidor lockers for a distinguished clientele that includes celebrities, athletes, and business leaders.
ABOUT THE ROLE
General Manager for a Premier Upscale Private Membership Club & Lounge w/ a full Kitchen & Bar in the Heart of Manhattan’s Upper East Side.
THE IMPACT YOU’LL MAKE
As the General Manager of Club Macanudo - NYC, you will be both the ‘mayor’, & heartbeat of this long-standing cigar club - leading by example a talented hospitality team, elevating the service standards, growing membership (& member retention) and ensuring every guest and member feels valued. You’ll oversee the full spectrum of the operation, from a bustling full-service kitchen and bar to exclusive member events, while driving profitability, fostering a culture of hospitality, and shaping the club’s reputation as THE premier destination for cigars in New York City.
WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
- Lead day-to-day operations across dining, bar, events, and member services, ensuring seamless execution and exceptional guest experiences.
- Partner with the Chef & Management to design seasonal menus, signature cocktails, and wine programs that delight members and drive revenue.
- Oversee membership engagement—developing personalized experiences, hosting exclusive events, and maintaining strong relationships with members.
- Manage budgets, P&L, and financial performance, identifying opportunities for growth and operational efficiency.
- Recruit, train, and inspire a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, creativity, and service excellence.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations while maintaining the highest quality standards.
- Collaborate with marketing to promote events, attract new members, and enhance the club’s brand presence.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 7+ years of senior leadership experience in upscale hospitality, luxury hotels, private member clubs, country clubs & fine dining.
- Proven success managing both front-of-house and back-of-house operations, including full-service kitchen and bar programs.
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasting, and profitability.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with high-profile clientele and inspire staff.
- A track record of creating memorable guest experiences and cultivating long-term Guest & member loyalty.
- Knowledge of wine, spirits, and culinary trends, with a passion for innovation in food & beverage.
