Business Controller – Business Operations

As our new Business Controller – Business Operations, you will join our SDO team in Alcantra and oversee our Business Operations function. You will help Business Operations and its Finance Business Partners maximize their financial contribution to STG's company goals. You will work closely with Finance Business Partners, Group R&A, the Asset Accounting team, and the Reporting & Analytics CoE Solution Lead. Your success will be measured by greater financial predictability, better forecast accuracy, and a stronger Business Operations team that improves its financials year over year. What your day will look like

In this role, you will typically focus on:

• Conduct financial and business controlling, explaining deviations and identifying root causes in collaboration with Finance Business Partners.
• Prepare financial plans and rolling forecasts with the Finance Business Partners, and upload the data into our financial planning software (Jedox).
• Support Group R&A with inventory accounting, including reconciliation, stock difference analysis, and aging analysis, in collaboration with Finance Business Partners.
• Analyze purchase price variance (PPV) and purchase orders, and give insights into maintenance costs using BI reporting on spare parts usage.
• Monitor CAPEX and fixed assets with the Asset Accounting team, and provide inputs for the capitalization of assets.
• Communicate updates, issues, and problems in the financial and business controlling process to the Reporting & Analytics CoE Solution Lead, and raise concerns early if anything could affect delivery on time.
• Support projects by supplying and uploading data requests from Finance Business Partners.
• Identify ways to extend and improve the process scope within business controlling, and put streamlined processes in place.
• Take part in functional and technical training on ERP systems and consolidation and planning tools to keep building your financial and controlling capabilities.

What you'll bring

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance. An MBA, CMA, or CPA is preferred.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in business controlling or FP&A.
• A strong understanding of financial and management reporting and of controlling activities.
• Experience with financial forecasting software and ERP systems (preferably SAP S/4HANA), and strong Excel skills.
• Experience with consolidation and planning tools such as IBM Cognos and Jedox is a plus.
• Strategic thinking and strong analytical skills.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and presentation skills, with fluency in English.
• Experience in a Shared Service Center or multinational environment is a plus.
