Bar Manager

Cigars International is looking for an experienced, motivated, and proactive Bar Manager who will motivate and train employees, promote and grow the business, and ensure our guests receive excellent service. You will be responsible for managing inventory, executing promotional events, following quality and safety controls, maintaining current licenses, budgeting and setting business objectives to increase profits and maximize customer satisfaction. In order to succeed as a Bar Manager, you must be someone who takes ownership, leadership, is creative, hardworking, organized and devoted to this industry.




  • Manage all business aspects of the bar, including keeping liquor license and RAMP/TIPS certifications current, negotiating supplier contracts, cycle counting inventory and reordering, managing budgets, and monitoring bar margins and profitability.
  • Hiring, training, and development of staff in order to provide excellent service to patrons.
  • Scheduling staff, resolving scheduling conflicts and ensuring the bar is staff appropriately during peak hours.
  • Setting and enforcing quality and safety controls.
  • Working in conjunction with the CI events team to plan and execute promotional events.
  • Diffusing tense situations between to prevent possible safety or legal issues.
  • Proactively manage team members to create a culture of accountability to our company’s standard operating procedures
  • Implement and maintain quality and safety controls
  • Analyze data to create strategic plans of action
  • Develop creative and unique menu features
  • Research developing industry trends and integrate them into our operations
  • Lead the bar staff to deliver an exceptional customer experience
  • Act as a coach to create future leaders for our growing company
  • Assume additional responsibilities as required




  • 5+ years of previous bar management or hospitality experience
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Ability to display decisive leadership and decision making
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to work during peak hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Thrives in a fast paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Understanding of business management and accounting principles
