Assistant General Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

Cigars International is looking for an experienced, motivated, and proactive Assistant General Manager to help oversee all aspects of the day-to-day operations of  a niche & luxurious retail establishment.  In this role you will assist in employee development programs, establishing processes and procedures of a cigar retail store which contains a full-service bar and light kitchen.  This position is responsible for helping to drive overall store performance and to create an amazing customer experience in the location.

 

GENERAL MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Creating an exceptional customer experience of the location through in-store interactions and direct external customer communication
  • Creating an amazing overall employee culture in the location
  • Serving as the Sales Floor Lead or Manager on Duty while at the location each day
  • Creating of schedules and posting all employee schedules within the location
  • Coaching and directing all associates in the location on all sales behaviors, marketing experiences, and operational processes
  • Helping to implement all training process, continued education training and development of the store team
  • Implementing a recognition program for all associates all individual performance and providing recognition and coaching
  • creating and implementing building/associates safety processes
  • Ensure labor spend is within the corporate provided labor budgets

 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5+or more years of retail, hospitality, and management experience with operating, capital, and cash budgeting. 
  • Previous retail experience working for a specialized boutique or niche is preferred but not required.
  • Leadership experience of managers and others with hiring, training,
    evaluating, compensation and corrective action.
  • Working knowledge of store point of sales systems and computer literacy.
  • Ability to handle multiple demands and make tough decisions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sense of urgency
