Marketing Analyst

Job Description:

The Marketing Analyst role will develop, execute and analyze offline and online marketing channels, run ad hoc analysis and manage budgets for a multi-title business.  This role is to generate and analyze data to help the business make actionable improvements and is designed to help solve business problems.


This role relies heavily on use of Microsoft Excel in daily work so the ideal candidate who is looking for a new way to use their advanced Excel skills. Successful candidate will require demonstrated advanced knowledge and use of Excel in analysis. Extensive training and process documentation will be provided on the responsibilities and you will be working closely with various team members for continued support while you learn the business.


The candidate will need to be dynamic with strong problem-solving and communication skills, able to multi-task, and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. He/she will be a logical thinker who can provide analysis and insights on behalf of the Marketing team to communicate with internal stakeholders including Merchandising, Design, IT, Warehouse, and the Contact Center. Attention to detail is a must.



Primary Responsibilities:


Channel Analytics - Measure and report on marketing campaign performance vs. prior year and budget.

  • Catalog match back reporting.
  • Catalog SQUINCH analysis.
  • Verify print catalog matches product list.
  • Calculate cost per page.
  • Run reports, mark catalogs, and maintain historical data.
  • Track competitive activity and industry trends.
  • Web performance reporting and trends.


Ad Hoc Analytics – runs ad-hoc analyses to drive business strategy.

  • Customer acquisition and LTV trend analysis.
  • Research and analysis on competitors, identifies emerging trends and key opportunities.
  • Assists with the creation, production and review of sales and marketing materials including but not limited to PowerPoint presentations.


Budgeting Management

  • Tracks and monitors individual channel spend for marketing and reports variances to management on a weekly basis.
  • Other duties as assigned.



Core Competencies:


  • Demonstrated advanced Excel expertise is required, including use of filters, pivots, lookups and nested formulas
  • Understanding of print and digital media preferred.
  • Ability to learn new software and internal processes quickly.
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize and execute multiple projects simultaneously, while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
  • Go getter and willingness to figure it out and get the job done.
  • Outcome-oriented and results focused.
  • Responsive to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Comfortable working independently and escalate issues as needed.
  • Understands the need for meeting deadlines, time management, contingency planning, and knowledge of approval procedures.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to provide initial insights from data and analysis 



  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics or Mathematics is preferred, but not required.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered
