Technical Project Manager

Bethlehem Shared Services, LLC is looking for a Technical Project Manager to help manage ongoing IT projects. You will be working closely with your team members to ensure that all project requirements, deadlines, and schedules are on track. Responsibilities include being instrumental in determining and documenting project objectives and deliverables, preparing status reports, and establishing effective project communication plans as well as the proper execution of said plans.Familiarity with software and hardware development lifecycles and environments. Must be able to pick up technical and business concepts quickly and understands technical issues at a sufficiently deep level to identify gaps.

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

Bethlehem Shared Services, LLC is seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to help manage multiple concurrent ongoing IT projects using a combination of waterfall and agile methodologies depending on the project. You will be working closely with your colleagues to ensure that all project requirements, resource plans, regular communication, timelines and budgets are established and on track. Responsibilities include being instrumental in documenting project objectives and deliverables, preparing status reports, problem solving, and establishing effective project communication plans as well as the proper execution of said plans.

 

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Familiarity with software and hardware development lifecycles and environments. Must be able to pick up technical and business concepts quickly and understands technical issues at a sufficiently deep level to identify gaps.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead daily and weekly sprint meetings for a cross-functional team spanning multiple disciplines and send action items, meeting recaps etc.
  • Ensure an on-time delivery of projects and clearly communicate project status, issues and progress using project collaboration tools
  • Build project requirements and get business sign-off on requirements prior to project start
  • Ensure successful delivery of IT projects and/or cross-functional project initiatives
  • Build project post-mortem process that includes measuring project delivery, quality and success. Conduct post mortem meetings to review project results and improve future approach.
  • Help guide team through project impediments ensuring blockers are removed and clearly communicated to all groups
  • Plan and identify resource needs throughout the life of a project
  • Create project management methodology and enforce project standards
  • Facilitate discussion, decision making, conflict resolution and clearly communicate to all parties
  • Actively works with the team on a daily basis to manage work assignments and deliverables.
  • Review deliverables prepared by team before moving to different stages (i.e. demo, testing etc.)
  • Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency of information
  • Develop and define process for grooming and maintaining the project backlog/prioritization
  • Communicates consistently with stakeholders to understand expectations and business strategy as well as to provide project status and communicating risks and mitigation plans.
  • Facilitates team meetings effectively including scheduling, agenda and minutes
  • Holds daily status meetings with project team
  • Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion
  • Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully
  • Prepare and circulate weekly executive overviews

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent business experience
  • 4+ years of project management experience at an ecommerce retailer
  • Demonstrated understanding of project management principles and techniques
  • Knowledge of traditional project management principles (burndown techniques, retrospective formats, handling bugs, user stories, continuous Integration, continuous testing).
  • Demonstrable experience successfully leading varied and diverse teams.
  • Demonstrable experience managing multiple smaller initiatives simultaneously.

 

PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills both verbal and written (English). 
  • Experience with Excel, Power Point, MS Office, Google Docs, Issue Tracking software
  • eCommerce & ERP system experience
  • Demonstrated ecommerce experience
  • Comfortable working under tight deadlines
  • Capable of operating independently with situational awareness to escalate as necessary
