Your role: Head of North American Fulfillment team sits within the global Integrated Planning team, and with a group of STG colleagues, you will be responsible for operating one of the most state of the art multi-use facilities in the country, including a newly installed Autostore. As a part of the STG team, you will use your specific knowledge as well as best practices within the Supply Chain domain to ensure we are servicing two-thirds of the company’s customers for both our wholesale (General Cigar and Lane Limited) and our high-volume ecommerce customers (Cigars International).

Responsibilities/Essential Functions:


  • Work collaboratively with Head of Global Integrated Planning to establish the vision and strategy for all fulfillment operations, and manage the successful execution of the plan.
  • Oversee a workforce of 100+ employees within all distribution departments.
  • Establish and/or implement departmental policies, goals, objectives, or procedures to ensure consistent quality outcomes.
  • Resolves critical issues and communicate appropriately to management.
  • Review, recommend, develop and implement changes in Distribution operations, processes, and systems.
  • Work with various internal groups to establish new processes that improve efficiency and effectiveness of the inventory management and fulfillment functions.
  • Effectively manage multiple shifts in volume due to daily customer order demands.
  • Challenge the team to be customer centric, including developing strategies to enhance our customer service and growth, focusing on deliveries that are on time, in full, and defect-free to influence positive customer feedback.
  • Assist in developing, training, and managing best practices in all areas of inventory management and fulfillment.
  • Responsible for monitoring performance and driving continuous improvement in inventory management and fulfillment areas.
  • Meet financial objectives by forecasting staffing requirements and assisting in preparing an annual budget.
  • Develop warehouse operations system improvements by analyzing process workflow, staffing and space requirements, and implementing changes when necessary.
  • Foster an environment of teamwork within the operation while developing employees to achieve their goals and objectives.
  • Maintain safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
  • May be required to lead cross-functional project teams to transform distribution sites and or implement new systems, methods or processes.
  • Coordinate with the Head of Global Integrated Planning to access space utilization, facility layout, capacity and staff plans.
  • Ensure compliance with Company and government regulatory rules and policies including but not limited to OSHA, environmental, FDA, etc.
  • Participate in and coordinates operational management development programs.
  • All other duties as assigned.


The Head of NA Fulfillment will report into the Head of Global Integrated Planning. What is required for you to succeed?

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in a multi-use wholesale and small package consumer goods distribution center
  • Bachelor’s degree in Management, Supply Chain (Other degrees considered with appropriate work experience)
  • Advanced knowledge of developing and implementing business plans and goals
  • Knowledge of the functionality of warehouse machine and equipment, such as forklifts, conveyors, tape machines, pallet jacks, etc.
  • Previous knowledge of Manhattan SCALE or equivalent WMS system a big plus
  • Post WMS implementation experience strongly preferred
  • SAP S4/Hana Experience a plus
  • Specialized training in lean Six Sigma, change management, project management, or related certification highly desired
  • Exhibits a strong ability to handle multiple demands with a sense of urgency, drive and energy
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work cross-functionally with internal and external teams
  • Great oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrates strategic planning and critical thinking skills
  • Demonstrates financial management skills
  • A passion for cigars is always a plus, but not required
