The role
The Human Resources Generalist will provide a wide variety of HR support to management and employees in our Warehouse and Logistics Operations. This position is the primary HR contact to support all aspects of HR service delivery; employee relations, talent management, staffing, training, onboarding and other related initiatives.  In addition to generalist responsibilities, this position will work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.  This is an exciting opportunity for an HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced, changing environment, is willing to challenge the status quo and deliver best-in-class HR service to our employees and leaders.   



  • Implement HR programs, policies and procedures in partnership with HR Management and business leaders, and identify opportunities to improve employee engagement, productivity and retention
  • Manage the full employment life cycle, including;
    • o    Development of job descriptions
    • o    Recommending appropriate compensation
    • o    Recruitment and selection
    • o    Onboarding and orientation
    • o    Performance management
    • o    Retention strategies
    • o    Terminations
  • Conduct recruitment and selection in order to hire well-qualified candidates in a timely manner, and partner with HR colleagues and managers to develop hiring competency and process improvements
  • Consult with managers on matters involving performance management, employee relations and discipline, providing feedback and guidance to develop management competency in these areas
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations
  • Identify training needs, partner with business leaders and HR colleagues to develop, source and implement recommended programs 
  • Support HR transactional and annual processes including status changes, salary reviews
  • Report, maintain and monitor workers' compensation, FMLA and Leave of Absence cases
  • Manage employee recognition programs
  • Develop and maintain expertise in HR best practices as well as state and federal employment laws

The profile
As a person you are used to navigate on different levels of an organization and are perceived as an approachable and
trustworthy person. You manage to keep your head cool during pressure and execute your work in systematic and
structured approach. You possess a can-do attitude that drives you to deliver high quality work combining business
needs with your HR toolbox to get the optimal outcome. Of background the preferred candidate would have:


  • 3+ years HR Generalist experience, preferably in an operations/warehouse, call center or production environment
  • Thorough knowledge of HR principles and practices, as well as relevant employment law
  • Strong employee relations skills, ability to manage conflict and foster an environment of positive employee relations at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to interpret policies, use sound judgment and recommend course of action in changing or ambiguous circumstances
  • Willingness to challenge the status-quo
  • Ability to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels of an organization
  • Desire, flexibility and initiative to help us grow and develop our business
  • Experience in the administration of HR processes including benefits, compensation and other human resource programs
  • Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s Preferred) with preference for concentration in human resources or business management
  • PHR, SPHR or similar certification preferred
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required

You will join the North American HR team being a part of Group HR in Scandinavian Tobacco Group. The Group HR
function is involved in the world-wide business of Scandinavian Tobacco Group which includes subsidiaries in approx.
20 countries and export sales to more than 100 countries.

In addition to your role, the Group HR function includes 58 dedicated employees located across our Group, from
Indonesia, across Europe to the Americas. We are busy and continue to have exciting and important tasks ahead of us.
