Demand Planner

STG is searching for our next Demand Planner who will be accountable for effectively managing the demand planning process in close cooperation with business representatives (Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, & Customer Service) to optimize service level objectives. You will be responsible for assuming leadership as the face of Supply Chain to the Sales organization and maintain active and responsive dialogue with Sales and Marketing. Objectives are achieved through the refinement of monthly and weekly forecasts and S&OP.  Intelligence is secured through various reporting systems and communication linkage between the functional areas of Sales, Marketing, Customer Service and Operations.  Result is to ensure proper inventory levels are maintained to provide an adequate level of customer service, efficient warehouse operations, and low unsalable.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Set up demand planning strategy ensuring the use of adequate planning methods and an optimal alignment with business functions using our state of the art Advanced Planning System.
  • Coordinate the consensus forecast process in close collaboration with commercial organization to identify best-fitting solutions to provide the plants and 3rd parties with a most accurate demand plan based on a statistical baseline and input from sales.
  • Generate and review monthly forecasts and measure, track and improve forecast accuracy.
  • Coordinate and update segmentation for demand planning in alignment with supply side segmentation.
  • Manage Phase-In (new products) / Phase-Out (Discontinued/ Slow Moving) and prevent obsolescence of Finished Goods.
  • Facilitate the S&OP process with demand planning results and effective alignment with business functions.
  • Develop and document standard planning processes with a focus on implementing global common processes and practices. 
  • Actively participate in the development and implementation of information and technology initiatives with respect to forecasting.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a retail/ecommerce company either as a sales planner or demand planner.
  • Complete familiarity with product lines including an understanding of the impact of new products, category sales programs, and general industry and category trends on forecasting.
  • Complete understanding of Supply Chain, Production, and Inventory Control principles and how they impact planning, scheduling, and procurement activities.
  • Strong Analytical skills with attention and focus on detail and solving problems.
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and general forecasting tools.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral communication.
  • Self-starter capable of working independently.
  • Accomplished Team Player
  • 3-5 Years of experience in Demand Planning/Supply Chain functions
  • Certified or willingness to pursue APICS certification.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficient in data management and analysis via SQL, Business Objects, and/or Microsoft Access/Excel a plus
  • 3-5 Years of experience in working with Sales and Customer Service
  • BA/BS Logistics, Business, or Finance degree.
  • APICS Certified.
