Our Headquarters is located in the heart of the Lehigh Valley in historic Bethlehem, PA. We have three (3) Retail locations in Pennsylvania, two (2) in Texas, two (2) in Florida and soon to be more.

 

This is a US-based position. Position can be remote, but travel is expected 10-20% of the time. You must be willing to come into our Bethlehem, PA facility and travel to vendors as needed.

 

Your overall role as Category Buyer

  • Global Strategic Procurement is part of Group Operations that covers the end-to-end Supply Chain process i.e. plan, source, make, and deliver. The strategic procurement function, which serves the entire group globally, is within source and is divided into direct and indirect categories. The role of the Strategic Procurement function is to deliver value for STG, growing our competitiveness at expected TCO. This through strategic management of our categories, strong stakeholder management and performance-driven supplier relationships.
  • As category buyer you take accountability for the following:
  • In collaboration with Head of category, develop category strategies to drive efficiency through Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)
    • Understands demand specifications
    • Challenge internal Demands
    • Analyze the category market (supply and demand), understands benchmarks the “Should cost price”, dynamics in the market, price drivers and suppliers landscape
  • Strategy Execution
    • RFI / RFQ negotiation Process
    • Negotiate, implement and manage supplier contracts
    • Change implementation
    • Contract and Suppliers Performance Management
    • Drive supplier consolidation and supplier risk management objectives.
  • Key cooperation in the Organization
    • Maintain direct interaction and alignment with business units, stakeholders, and plants across the portfolio.
    • Performance Management with budget Holders

    • Ownership Personality bringing enthusiasm and sense of urgency to the role
    • Comfortable with accountability to deliver major financial targets with speed
    • Utilize the 3 key levers of cost management (Demand, Price & Policy)
    • Effectively lead the strategy to success at all levels within the company, working closely with teams across to the company (Operations, Business, IT, Finance, Legal, HR, etc)
    • Manage and mitigate price Inflation without effecting service or quality.

 

What’s needed for you to succeed?

  • Actively involved in procurement activities for a minimum of 2 years where you have acquired experience in supplier negotiations, stakeholder management, contract management, and project management
  • Preferably background in FMCG company with a proven track record
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to present your ideas effectively as well as the ability to work with various stakeholders, colleagues, and vendors
  • Ambitious self-starter who’s able to work independently

 

About the Procurement team

The location of this position will be preferably in Bethlehem (US-PA). The Team is international, and all are dedicated to delivering outstanding results and going the extra mile to succeed. You will report to the Global Procurement Manager Distribution, Logistics and Fleet.

 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in procurement and strategic sourcing
  • Indirect Strategic Sourcing and relevant category experience preferred
  • Proven and firm project management experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with pragmatic approach

 

Travel

  • Some travel, US mainly (10-20% of time)
